Legend of Fire & Ice

Legend has it that when Hanmer Springs was discovered in 1859, there was ‘Fire’ blazing beneath the Hanmer plains for many years.

Combined with natures contribution of flowing ‘Icy’ waters from the Southern Alps, these embers burned, finally to emerge in 2015 as the ‘Fire & Ice’ watering hole nestled in the village of Hanmer Springs.

Commonly known by locals & tourists for decades, ‘the house next door’ was transformed into this amazing Restaurant & Bar you are sitting in today.
